CCM Selected among 10 Finalists in Lumina Foundation Million Dollar Education Grant Challenge

On Monday, May 9, the County College of Morris (CCM) announced that it has been selected by the Lumina Foundation, a private foundation committed to making opportunities for continued education available to all, as one of 10 colleges nationwide in its Million Dollar Community College Challenge. The national grant competition assists two-year higher education institutions with brand building and marketing. It is designed to help community colleges connect with adult students seeking college degrees or short-term credentials.

As a finalist, CCM may be eligible for the million-dollar grand prize and technical assistance to support the college’s marketing and branding initiatives. CCM is the only college in New Jersey selected as a finalist for the challenge; other finalists include the College of Eastern Idaho, the Community College of Rhode Island, Great Falls College, Houston Community College, Long Beach City College, Madera Community College, Madison Area Technical College, Minnesota State College Southeast, Montana State University and Northwest-Shoals Community College.

The grand prize winner will be announced in August 2022. Each of the remaining nine finalists will receive $100,000 to support branding, marketing, and technical assistance. The finalists will be required to develop a creative brief and video narrative that communicates what opportunities the college promises to its adult students.
