Norwalt Design Honored as Family Business of the Year

Norwalt Design, Inc., located in Randolph at 961 Route 10 East, is among seven NJ businesses that will be honored at the 28th Annual New Jersey Family Business of the Year Awards on Wednesday, October 21st. Businesses awarded this recognition are judged under the following criteria: family history, family values, innovation and perseverance, community involvement, and future vision.

Since the business’ founding in 1971, the family at Norwalt Design has worked to push limits and break barriers to deliver the most efficient, innovative automation solutions possible. The business manufactures custom assembly machines with a particular focus on large-scale automation for consumer goods and medical device products.

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Norwalt team shifted their focus to automating the production of COVID-19 test kits to meet critical public health needs as healthcare companies struggled to meet overwhelming demands. Utilizing innovative approaches and existing automation solutions, the business has successfully delivered two separate automation systems to two healthcare companies. Currently, Norwalt is in the process of building five additional kit systems for healthcare companies across the country. The kits range from PCR tests, saliva tests, and paper litmus tests, and to date, each system has performed at speeds that set new industry standards for high-volume test kit production.
