Randolph Named Among New Jersey’s Newest Film Ready Communities
The New Jersey Economic Development Authority recently announced the designation of Randolph Township as one of New Jersey’s newest Film Ready Communities through the Film Ready New Jersey Program. The initiative is administered by the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission and is designed to help municipalities prepare to host film and television productions.
Randolph is one of 15 municipalities recently added to the program. The newest cohort includes Edison, Fanwood, Garwood, Hamilton, Hanover, Highland Park, Hightstown, Lambertville, New Brunswick, Newton, Oceanport, Phillipsburg, Robbinsville, Shrewsbury, and Randolph. With these additions, 58 municipalities across New Jersey are now designated as Film Ready Communities.
The Film Ready New Jersey Program is a certification and marketing initiative that prepares municipalities to accommodate film and television productions. Through training and workshops, municipal representatives learn how to coordinate permitting, public safety, and municipal services needed to support production crews while minimizing disruptions to the community.
In addition to promoting New Jersey as a filming destination, the program highlights the economic benefits that film and television productions can bring to local communities. Productions often generate activity for local restaurants, hotels, and small businesses, while also creating temporary employment opportunities and increasing exposure for filming locations.
By participating in the program, Randolph Township joins a growing network of communities positioned to work with location scouts and production companies seeking locations for film, television, and digital media projects.
