Business Spotlight: The Music Den

Located at 1030 Route 10 West in Randolph, NJ, The Music Den is a full-service music store offering instrument sales, rentals, repairs, lessons, and installations. Owned by Tom and Jerry Scognamiglio, the business first opened in 1984 in Landing, NJ. After expanding to several locations over the years—including Roxbury, Butler, and Parsippany—the owners decided to consolidate into a single, larger location. They purchased the Randolph property in 2010, built a custom facility, and opened it in January 2011.

The Music Den serves Randolph and neighboring towns like Roxbury, Mount Olive, and Rockaway, all of which have strong school music programs that the store supports regularly. With a team of 21 full-time and 6 part-time staff members, the business focuses on music education and providing reliable products and services to students and musicians of all ages. The Scognamiglios, both professional musicians and educators, credit their success to their industry knowledge and their ability to offer honest, practical advice.

The Music Den has been named a “Top 100 Music Dealer” several times by NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) and is a member of the AIMM Group (Alliance of Independent Music Merchants), a network of leading independent music retailers whose mission is to help develop and grow the music industry.
