Business Spotlight: West Morris YMCA
The West Morris Area YMCA, led by CEO Kathy Fisher, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Located at 14 Dover Chester Road in Randolph, NJ, the YMCA offers a wide range of programs and services designed for individuals and families of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels.
The West Morris Area YMCA is committed to providing innovative, inclusive programming that responds directly to community needs. As a Rock Steady Boxing affiliate, the YMCA offers specialized support for individuals with Parkinson’s. Members also benefit from advanced SMARTfit technology, a Warm Water Pool, and state-of-the-art EGYM fitness equipment.
The YMCA provides before- and after-school care at seven off-site school locations, hosts a popular summer camp, and is home to Universal Dover Pre-K at the Program House. Additionally, the YMCA proudly serves veterans through therapeutic aquatic programs and veteran discounts.
With over 70 land and aquatic fitness classes included in membership, as well as offerings such as swim lessons, personal training, and wellness education, the YMCA provides programming for everyone—from young children to active seniors.
Founded in 1868 in Dover, NJ, and originally housed in the former Salvation Army building, the YMCA expanded to its current Randolph location in 1979, following a 1977 board decision to build a new, modern facility. Throughout its history, the YMCA has remained deeply rooted in the community, constantly evolving to meet changing needs and earning the trust of generations of local families.
A key part of the YMCA’s success is the strong relationships it has built with members and the wider community. In recognition of its dedication to member safety and best practices, the West Morris Area YMCA received Praesidium Accreditation in January 2025—a distinction that reflects the organization’s commitment to safety and adherence to the highest standards in abuse prevention. Other accolades include being awarded Best of Aquatics Awards in 2010 and 2018, and the Best of the Best Award in 2024.
